We start from Karis railway station where it is easy to arrive by train or leave your car. From there we first walk half a kilometre with skis in hand after which we come to the fields at Läppträsket. From there we ski a 13 km route to Malmbacka through beautiful cultural landscapes at such a pace that you have time to enjoy the views. We also have a picnic on the way.
Heavier equipment for e.g. overnight stays is taken by car so you only have your small backpack with you.
When we arrive in Malmbacka, we start with a sauna to wash off after skiing. This sauna has received a lot of praise for its nice bath.
We then enjoy Charcoal bun with the usual accompaniments for lunch. An interesting acquaintance for lunch.
After lunch, there will be a guided tour of charcoal worker´s life, how people lived when they made their coal. There is also time for the interesting and diverse nature trail or other personal time. Now there is the opportunity to get a haircut or colouring with organic hairdresser Älva. (This should be booked in connection with the registration for the hike)
In the evening we enjoy a delicious two-course dinner made by the fire. You can also participate in the cooking if you wish. Full and satisfied, you can spend the night in the quiet and cosy Charcoal worker’s hut where you will sleep peacefully and for a long time.
Wood chopping is also on the list.
In the morning we start with a good and plentiful breakfast, chop some firewood again and after packing everything in the car, we ski back another way, again over beautiful fields, a distance of about 12 km. We finish where we started so we walk the last half kilometre with skis in hand.
Before getting on the train or in the car, you can take a shower in the stylishly renovated old sauna in the station area before your journey home.
